Useless files in the 3dsmax build

For 3dsmax 2013 we moved to the Microsoft Visual C 10.0 compiler. Therefore we didn’t want to ship anything that was built with version 9.0 of that compiler. So as a result, I was digging through all the modules of 3dsmax and found a group of DLL’s that are NOT used at all. These files come with the RealDWG library and thus get automatically included with our product. I suspect that any product that uses the Autodesk RealDWG toolkit might have these files:

AmberCore*.dll

Apparently Ambercore is a company that makes software for working with point clouds. 3dsmax doesn’t use it, so if  you want to make your max installation smaller, leaner and meaner then you can delete the files.
